Robert Alvarez
Violinist

Alexandria  Moore
Robert is a full-time musician, playing tirelessly with three bands, four to five nights
a week. His first endeavor, Sara Smile, has been playing to returning audiences for
four years with crowd-pleasing covers from Downtown to Folly Beach. Tidal Jive, a
partnership with fellow songwriter Adam Gasque, is quickly acquiring a fan base
with their funky original sounds and impressive covers. Tidal Jive recently signed a
contract with Kentucky based record company 9 Lives Records. Tidal Jive was
recently featured in the Charleston City Paper’s "Staff Picks" section, which
highlights some of Charleston’s hottest talent.   Finally, a collaboration with former
Nashville recording artist, Falling Awake, make North by South Robert’s third, and
equally successful, project.

Pianist

Myron Walker

In 2008, Alexandria Moore worked at  Crescent Hill Church;
Louisville, KY as a Day Care Worker.  2007-2008 at  Sacred
Heart Model School; Louisville, KY she coached a kid's team
volley ball.

She graduated from DuPont Manual High School in Louisville,
KY in 2009.   She now attends the College of Charleston as an
Arts Management Major.  Graduation expected in 2013

Myron Walker was born to Maurice and Reicka Walker
in Charleston, SC.  He  began piano lessons at the age
of seven with the late Fred E. Sabback.  After being
under the instructions of Mr. Sabback,  Myron became
a student of Anne Pender. He is currently a senior at
Garrett Academy of Technology and is a member of
Skills USA where he served as the state
Parliamentarian Vice President and President.
He is also  the keyboard percussionist for the Falcon
Pride Concert Band,  has served as the pianist for
Macedonia AME Church from November
2007-September 2009, and organist for Christian
Baptist from Februrary 2009-May 2010.

Robert Alvarez knew at a very young age that music was
his passion. Largely self-taught, he began playing guitar at
the age of 10. After high school, Robert majored in music
production at Middle Tennessee State University. Eager to
begin working professionally, he returned to the
Charleston where he first began studying jazz guitar and
music theory with Charleston music scene veteran Paul
Gelpi. Robert began playing music professionally shortly
thereafter and has continued in and around Charleston for
the last four years.

Percussionist

Robert Downey
Alexandria has been playing the violin since fourth grade.   She is also starting to pick
up guitar and piano.   She worked at a day care for a year and  would like to
incorporate music and child care into one job.


For eleven years Bobby Downey has been playing drums.  
He
is the middle child of his parents 3 children. As a rising
Junior, Bobby is 16 years old and attends Fort Dorchester
High School.  
He  started playing at his  church on the
bongos.
 Not only is Bobby an active musician for his
church
at Gethesemane Baptist, where he is the lead
drummer, he holds a leadership position in the JROTC
Program at school
.  He has held the lead  percussion
position  in band at his school (Fort Dorchester High)
.
Bobby also plays a little xylophone, snare, and other
percussion instruments.  


Myron is currently the Organist and Choirmaster for St. Andrew's Episcopal Mission
Church. He is a present a student of Dan McCurry.  To pursue a degree in Music
Education and Piano Performance is Myron's ambition.

Instructor's Bio

He has held lead percussion at Oakbrook Middle School and performed with the local artist,
Faith Lyn.   Bobby also is involved in other extracurricular programs like  football and
wrestling.  He is very instrumental in the planning and production of Simple Gifts annual
recital.  He has been teaching percussion at Simple Gifts for two years and enjoys teaching
students and the environment that he is in.
